PDS™ Antibacterial Violet Monofilament Surgical Suture, Size 2-0, 27", with a CT-1 needle, is a synthetic absorbable suture made from polydioxanone and coated with triclosan (Irgacare® MP). This coating provides antibacterial activity that helps reduce the risk of surgical site infections by inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture surface.

Absorption occurs gradually through hydrolysis, completing within 183 to 238 days. This controlled absorption profile eliminates the need for removal and ensures long-term biocompatibility. The violet color improves visibility in the surgical field, enhancing placement accuracy and procedural efficiency.

The CT-1 needle, a 1/2 circle taper point, is engineered for soft tissue approximation in general surgical procedures. Its design allows precise, reliable penetration with minimal cutting or trauma to tissue. The suture's enhanced pliability and handling characteristics contribute to secure knot tying and efficient wound closure.
